"In Faith We Grow... To God's Greater Glory!"
Saved by God’s Grace
As a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, we hold to the traditional Lutheran teaching and doctrine of Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura, and Solus Christus (grace alone, faith alone, Scripture alone, and Christ alone). In other words, we believe teach and confess that we are saved by God's grace alone through faith alone, in Christ alone. God has made all of this known to us in Scripture alone.
"It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)
The Holy Trinity
We believe that there is one God, in three persons, yet still only one God. These are:
God the Father Almighty, maker of all things. He is the first person of the Holy Trinity and spoke into existence all the wonders of the universe. It was He who sent Jesus to pay for our sins and the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us for His glory.
God the Son, Jesus the Christ, the eternal God made flesh and the very Son of God. He is equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit, the second person of the Holy Trinity. We believe that Jesus died on the cross as payment for all sins, past, present, and future. We believe that Jesus rose on the third day. We believe that Jesus was conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit and born to the Virgin Mary.
God the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Holy Trinity, through whose power in Holy Baptism, we are saved into eternal life and forgiven of sins in the Lord's Table. It is He who works through Word and Sacrament to keep our faith alive and strong.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
