Mission Support
St. Paul plans events to help proclaim Christ’s love, such as packing Christmas boxes to send to youth abroad through Operation Christmas Child, collecting “mites boxes” to raise funds for national and international ministries, and the annual “Everything’s $1” sale to benefit local charities. See the weekly announcements for information on upcoming events.
MCEF
St. Paul is happy to support the Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions charity, which helps those in our local community by providing food, clothing and transportation to those in need. For more information, visit www.4mcef.com
International Ministry- Rev. Matt Wood and family
Rev. Matthew and Kali Wood serve on behalf of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Indonesia, based in Medan. Matthew works closely with the Indonesian Christian Lutheran Church (GKLI). He helps train pastors and lay leaders by providing resources through educational workshops, translation projects and other efforts in cooperation with this LCMS partner church. Prayer Shawl and Chemo & Baby Caps Ministry
Many ladies at St. Paul create quilts, shawls and caps to give to friends and neighbors going through difficult times as a way to reach out with the love of Christ. See the weekly announcements for more information.
Operation Christmas Child
Every year, the congregation fills shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items. Through Operation Christmas Child, these boxes are sent to youth across the developing world, where they receive not only Christmas gifts, but are also taught about the Good News of a Savior born into the world.
Community Outreach Events
We had the joy of interacting with families in the Mechanicsville community at Hanover County’s annual Spooky Fun Fest. Kids of all ages decorated a craft, and we were blessed to share a message of Jesus’ love of how we are like pumpkins - God scoops out the messy stuff (sin) and puts His Light inside of us!
